Triathlon Training

Well, last night was the first time that I combined two activities into my workout. I rode my bike on the indoor trainer for 25 minutes, then took a 5-minute break, then jogged for 25 minutes. It was a very good workout. After I got done with the bike ride, my legs were very sore (I pushed it very hard). But after the jog, I rested for a few minutes, and realized that I was surprisingly not sore. I am getting more and more excited for my first triathlon. I will probably start doing some swimming in March. I am debating on where to go to do the swimming...we'll see.

Eric - I just went to the South Davis Rec Center to play racquetball and noticed they have an awesome pool there. If you want we could hook up a couple times and I could help you with some techniques. 750 M for people who don't usually swim will be like, well.. what the 5K run is going to be like for me - pure torture. But its just a matter of practice and getting the stroke as effortless and efficient as possible.

You might want to start small and then build up. But I think the key to really getting that endurance in swimming, you have to do it on a consistent basis. Also having a partner is HUGE! Its very easy to lose motivation when its just you.

You're welcome to come up to Surf N' Swim and swim with Cathi and I!
